HEY! I'M JANE....
I’m writing this from my home office here on the beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada. I grew up here,
University saw me move to Nova Scotia but my career brought me back to PE Island & my husband & I just love it here. I’ve spent a lot of my career working in insurance sales which I have been so passionate about but with some industry changes & challenges I decided I was ready for something new.
Having an Online Business in the Personal Development space now gives me the opportunity to still be working from my home office, be incredibly passionate about what I do in assisting others and to also have the time & flexibility for our dreams again.
I now have joy while I’m working, it’s the people & the purpose behind what we do & why we do it
THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE: I spent more than 30 years working as an Insurance Agent & it was a role and industry that I loved. I was passionate about making sure people were fully covered & I enjoyed being a part of such a people oriented business. We used to say we ran a “Kitchen Table Company” - because that’s where we’d meet people, at their kitchen table! Being invited into someone’s home, or onto their farm really is special. After some industry changes started to happen & challenges appeared that were out of my control, I started to feel out of alignment with the work and the stress started to take it’s toll on me, I knew then that I would have to find something that I could be in love with again.
THE BUSINESSES THAT TAUGHT ME A LOT: I’ve worked independently for such a long time, but always under the banner of a big company. This has had it’s ups & downs. Having a process & a formula to follow is great, having support & training is super beneficial but when things get tough, not having enough control over your business really does make things tricky. I grew up on a farm & learned from a young age when I started to run the farm books, what is important in business - where the numbers need to stack up and how to know what is within your control and what isn’t - and when to diversify. I guess I’ve always had that entrepreneurial streak in me - when I was around 6 years old my brother & I set up a stand in our driveway selling bags of corn… While the sales went well, it presented 2 problems - we were selling on a Sunday which our parents were not happy about and, it was cow corn!
THE LESSONS THAT LED ME TO SUCCESS: My faith has been a guiding force in my personal growth, providing a moral compass & the desire to serve others, while still striving to be the best version of myself that I can be. I even realised recently that reading Anne of Green Gables as a younger person had an impact on me through the messaging in the storyline. Starting a business that is specifically based in the Personal Development industry has not only greatly helped me to come back to really being myself again but I am back in the position of providing service to others in a way where they can benefit from the Personal Growth as well - in all areas of their life. I know I was born & raised to be a leader & to do that as my “work” now is so fulfilling.

THE BUSINESS YOU’LL FIND ME IN NOW: Being in Business has so many benefits but it has to be right business for you. To be able to find joy in what I do again, to be productive & have my purpose back every day and to have the right people around me in my work life is such a blessing. I am financially motivated but when I decided to get started in this business it was less about creating security & more about recovering our lost dreams - there was a time where that had all been put on hold and it’s so great to see that all back on the drawing board again. I have time for our regular hobbies & interests - walking the dog & getting out in winter to enjoy snowshoeing, I know I can have fun again & I’m excited about what’s ahead.
